It would be helpful if the number of edits that each user commits was tracked and perhaps was encouraged through some benefits.
Also, it would be helpful to know how long it typically takes for edits to become permanent.1 vote
Thank you for your idea, we are currently working on implementing this feature.
“Also, it would be helpful to know how long it typically takes for edits to become permanent.”
Can you please specify, what you mean by “edits to become permanent” ?
Sometimes, the original file location and/or name and/or extension changes. It would be nice to alter this metadata on georeferencer.org1 vote
We are planning to implement this possibility in one of the next udpates.
The ability to add parts of book map together like a puzzle on one map. (like Christopher Colles's book map of 1798). Presently I believe you can only compare maps by clicking on them separately.1 vote
Thank you for your idea, we are not planning to implement this ability in the near future.
It would be great to permit digitizing/tracing of point, polyline, and polygon geometries once a map is georectified, then saving them. Old maps are the best source for approximate locations of places that no longer exist or have changed names. And they are virtually the only source for approximate locations of roads, rail, former river courses. With this feature, Georeferencer could fully support "historical mapathons," which will add a great volume to the historical geodata commons. Points would be highest priority, followed by lines and polygons.1 vote
Thank you for your idea. We are going to reconsider it.
Make it possible to un-register.
Why isn't there a normal contact email ?1 vote
All requests can be sent directly to email@example.com.
To unregister, this feature will be implemented in the next upgrade of the georeferencer tool.
It would be amazing to see the coordinates as you add control points so you can keep track of how accurately you are doing so.
Recommended UX would be to get rid of the coordinates tab and integrate the coordinates pane into the Side by Side and Overlay layouts. Clicking on a Coordinates icon would slide out the pane in the same manner that the other maps pane slides out.1 vote
This is a great idea, thank you for your post. We are going to consider possible implementation.
Jpeg2000 from Library of congrass works fine - could you add MrSID support as well?1 vote
Thank you for your post, we will discuss internally the possibility of adding MrSID support.
Ability to rename the title of map on the This Map page.1 vote
We are planning to implement this possibility in one of the next updates.
Support for digital elevation models.
It would be great to end up with a georeferenced old map overlaid on top of an accurate digital elevation. You can see an example of this here - https://www.davidrumsey.com/view/georeferencer1 vote
Thank you for your idea, we are thinking about digital elevation models and possible implementation.
But for now, this is not the priority feature.
especially for Germany is it possible?
